Brief information and technical specifications:

About Longines:

Longines is an old and respected Swiss brand which was established in 1832. Longines makes good, high quality, elegant, and sporty watches with reliable standard ETA movements. In terms of movements, Longines is comparable to Tissot, Certina, Oris, and Alpina, and in terms of reputation and prestige, Longines is probably in the same league as TAG Heuer. In terms of build quality, Longines ranks above Tissot and Certina, but is probably comparable to TAG Heuer.

About Longines HydroConquest:

Longines’ divers watches are quite affordable, and offer a 300 meter/1,000 feet water resistance which is fully comparable to many high end Swiss brands out there. To give you a comparison here: TAG Heuer Aquaracer (depends on the specific Aquaracer model), Rolex Submariner, and Omega Seamaster Professional too have a depth rating of 300 meters/1,000 feet.

Given the exquisite design and understated elegance of Longines’ HydroConquest divers watches, they can indeed be used as dress watches as well.

If your intention is to move up the hierarchy of Swiss luxury watch brands, and eventually buy a more prestigious brand, Longines is a good place to start. Most of their divers watches can be found in a price range slightly below or slightly above $1,000. Many people that want to buy a Breitling, a Rolex or an Omega, very often start with Longines.

However, Longines by itself is a very reputable brand which will satisfy many people’s desire for impeccable elegance.

A celebrity that is known to endorse and support the Longines brand is the world famous professional tennis player Andre Agassi.
